a new shelf for lps and books

pretty much just a picdump this time

time for a new shelf! this is kind of just a picdump. i dont feel like writing a lot, but still want to document this somehow.

i got a new plunge saw, so i could use some “old” wooden boards this time, instead of getting fitting boards from the hardware store. these were in use in some garden for years… wooden boards on a cargo bike.

i decided to turn my tiny basement into a tiny workshop for this project. the saw guide barely fit - i got a shorter one a few days later…

my tiny basement. its got a little working table with the old wooden boards laying on top, and some stuff is piled on the walls around it. my basement. it barely fits the saw guide.

also, i borrowed a friends sanding machine. sanding some wooden boards

cutting the first parts

pretty much all the boards were bent. has a pretty slap-sticky time putting all the parts together. (for the second shelf, i already developed a routing, but my next project will not involve boards this old…)

two finished shelves!

next up: the new bookshelf. im building this mainly out of the parts of the old bookshelf, and some stuff i still had in my basement. this is the first fitting.

putting everything together is a lot simpler when not every part is bent. :D

done! new bookshelf! \o/
